Senior FP&A Analyst

The Senior FP&A Analyst will be a key member of the finance team, reporting to the Director of FP&A in a fast-paced, PE-backed manufacturing and distribution environment. This role provides analytical and reporting support to the senior leadership team across both commercial and operational finance, partnering with the Director of FP&A to deliver insight that drives decision-making. The Senior Analyst will handle a broad mix of financial planning, reporting, and analysis while continuously improving processes and tools.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Commercial Finance Reporting & Analysis
  • Support the Director of FP&A in delivering financial insight to the VP of Sales and commercial leadership team
  • Prepare weekly and monthly channel, customer, and product-level reporting with variance commentary and trend analysis
  • Lead commercial variance analysis: identifying drivers of performance vs. budget, forecast, and prior year
  • Build and maintain customer and product profitability analyses; surface margin opportunities and underperforming SKUs, customers, and channels
  • Partner with the Pricing Manager on pricing analytics, providing price/volume/mix decomposition and financial modeling to support proposed pricing actions
  • Incorporate market and industry data into volume forecasts and demand analyses to understand how TAM dynamics, end-market trends, and competitive shifts are impacting performance
  • Support commercial OPEX budgeting, tracking, and reporting
  • Assist with sales budgeting and forecasting, including pipeline-driven revenue forecasts and bridge analyses vs. budget and prior year
Supply Chain & Manufacturing Finance Reporting & Analysis
  • Support daily, weekly, and monthly KPI reporting for the supply chain and manufacturing teams
  • Prepare monthly plant financial reporting and variance analysis
  • Support the annual operating budget for manufacturing and distribution facilities
  • Track CAPEX spend by project and assist with developing proposals for new CAPEX investments (ROI, NPV, IRR)
  • Develop and maintain labor and overhead (L&OH) rates supporting standard cost calculations across manufacturing facilities
  • Track synergy savings and integration progress on newly acquired operations (M&A)
Financial Modeling & Ad Hoc Analysis
  • Build and maintain financial models supporting strategic initiatives, scenario planning, and investment decisions for the Director of FP&A and CFO
  • Perform ad hoc financial analysis on short turnaround for senior leadership and the PE sponsor, and continuously improve reporting and forecasting tools, templates, and processes
  • Perform other tasks and duties, as assigned by the Director of FP&A
TECHNICAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  • 5 – 7 years' experience as a Financial Analyst, Senior Financial Analyst, Cost Accountant, or related FP&A role
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or related field; MBA a plus
  • Strong knowledge of budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, cost accounting, and investment analysis (ROI, NPV, IRR)
  • Exposure to both commercial / sales finance and operations / manufacturing finance strongly preferred
  • Experience working in Great Plains or a similar ERP system
  • Experience with BI and reporting tools (Power BI, Tableau, or similar) preferred
  • Advanced Excel skills, including complex modeling, large data sets, and pivot-driven analysis
  • Experience in a PE-backed environment is a plus
